Atheist Group Files Suit Against Prayer at 2009 Presidential Inauguration

Twenty eight member of the group Freedom From Religion, have joined forces with Michael Newdow(that wacky atheist who tried to have the words "under god" removed from the Pledge of Allegiance), in a lawsuit to remove the words "so help me God" from the Presidential oath of office.

"We're hoping to stop prayer and religious rituals at governmental functions, especially at the inauguration," Barker told FOX News.

Reverends Rick Warren and Joe Lowrey, who will be participating in the inauguration ceremony have been named defendants in the suit. "Those people who do pray do believe in God and they are in fact trying to use the government to pick sides. In America we are free to disagree. We can disagree with Rev. Rick Warren but we're not free to ask our government to settle the argument," Barker said, adding that government causes harm when it takes on "the mantel of religion and expresses religion as an official governmental function.

Peter Sprigg, vice president for policy at the Family Research Council, said it's Obama's decision whether to include a prayer, not the government's. Sprigg also told Fox News that ""These atheists who are suing to prevent prayer at the inauguration are showing a fundamental misunderstanding of what the First Amendment is all about. The establishment of religion that is forbidden by the First Amendment means the official declaration of an official national church. It doesn't mean that public ceremonies can not include prayers or acknowledgement of the existence of God,"

Sprigg and I agree that this lawsuit will probably go nowhere. Seriously Atheists. Freedom of religion means that we can not be persecuted for believing what we wish to believe, or not believe. It does not make God a dirty word. If the word God is hated so much by Atheists, I think they should do the noble thing and start boycotting U.S currency. After all, that nasty little evil word is printed on it. Come on Atheists, put your money where your mouth is. Literally.

I'm fine with you not believing in God, its whatever floats your boat. But it's about time that atheists stop trying to bully the rest of the population out of their rights to say the word God.

Bristol Palin Welcomes Her First Child. Sarah Palin is a Grandma!

I think its about time we take a moment away from all the seriousness and congratulate Sarah Palin on welcoming her first grandchild into the world.

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston welcomed their 7 pound, 4 ounce son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston earlier today.

The Palin's wish to keep the matter private, but you can bet the MSM won't let that happen. We will see their pictures splattered all over the tabloids by the weekend I can guarantee it.

But in the spirit of this joyous event, my biggest congrats go out to the proud mommy and grandma and the entire Palin family.

Arianna Huffington is a Cunt

For Arianna Huffington's latest article titled "Laissez-Faire Capitalism Should Be as Dead as Soviet Communism", I have decided that Ms. Huffington has transcended the ranks from political wing nut hack, to a full and total cunt. I hate using that word, I really do, but I can see no other title fitting.

The opening stinger of Huffington's article is this
"The collapse of Communism as a political system sounded the death knell for Marxism as an ideology. But while laissez-faire capitalism has been a monumental failure in practice, and soundly defeated at the polls, the ideology is still alive and kicking."

Apparently Huffington does not realize that America does not have a laissez-faire capitalistic economy. We never have. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, laissez-faire is defined as:
1 : a doctrine opposing governmental interference in economic affairs beyond the minimum necessary for the maintenance of peace and property rights
2 : a philosophy or practice characterized by a usually deliberate abstention from direction or interference especially with individual freedom of choice and action"

Republicans argue we should move more in that direction. Libertarians, my economic philosophy of choice, argue that there is no other way to achieve economic success.

The U.S economy is nothing close to laissez-faire. The government mandates what we can sell, who we can sell it to and where we will sell it. The government tells businesses how many people need to work for them, how much the workers need to be paid, and even what color their skin should be and what reproductive parts they should have. The government tells business owners what kind of building the must have and where that building must be located.

Maybe if the U.S economy were a bit more laissez-faire, we wouldn't be in the boondoggle we are in. Maybe the banks would not have been forced to make bad loans had the government not told them that they must serve the poor and underprivileged. Maybe "The Big 3" would not be asking for a bailout and would have stayed competitive with their foreign counterparts, had the government not regulated what they produced to government specifications, when it was not economically feasible for them to do so.

I'm not quite sure if Huffington did any kind of real research for her article or if she just started spouting off all the misinformation inside that tiny little head of her's. Regardless, she is a cunt for being such a dolt. Its no wonder that the Cuntington Post news rag has been accused of plagiarism so many times, with a genius like that at the helm.

Sarah Palin named Conservative of the Year by Human Events

Sarah Palin has been named Conservative of the Year by Human Events.

According to Ann Coulter, Palin was bestowed the award because
"Sarah Palin wins HUMAN EVENTS’ prestigious “Conservative of the Year” Award for 2008 for her genius at annoying all the right people. The last woman to get liberals this hot under the collar would have been … let's see now … oh, yeah: Me!"...

...Like most Democrats, both Obama and Biden boasted of their humble beginnings, while having fully adopted the attitudes, pomposity and style of the elites.

Meanwhile, Palin is the sort of genuine American that brings out the worst, most egregious pomposity of liberals. For weeks, Carl Bernstein was showing up on TV to announce: “We still don’t have the date of first issuance of her passport.” Members of the establishment would be astonished to learn that more Americans have guns than passports.

Liberals were angry at Palin because they thought she should look and act like Kay Bailey Hutchinson: Upper crust, prissy and stiff.

Palin had a husband in the Steelworkers Union, a sister and brother-in-law who owned a gas station, and five attractive children -- one headed for Iraq, one a Down’s syndrome baby and one the cutest little girl anyone had ever seen.

In a nutshell, Palin was everything Democrats are always pretending to be, but never are."


I do not agree with Ann Coulter very often, but her observations are almost lock step with my own. Palin is everything the Liberals say they stand for, but secretly despise. Liberals love to tell the working man that they are on their side, but at the same time they make sure the working man thinks that he is powerless without his unions and his special interest groups and democratic politicians on his side.

Women's issues?? Liberal Democrats believe that allowing a woman to choose, is allowing her to make bad decisions for herself and then correct a "mess", instead of teaching a woman how to make better decisions. Choice is so much more than vacuuming out a womb.

Sarah Palin shows women and the common man that special interest groups are not needed. All that is needed in America is a dream and a lot of hard work and you can do whatever your little heart desires.

So weird that this is happening twice in one article but Coulter and I agree on one more thing. Sarah Palin has a lot of potential to be a future leader of the GOP, but she need not rush the process. She should take the time needed to be at the top of her game. 2012 may not be her year, but the GOP shouldn't pluck her until she is right.

She ought to spend the next decade being a good governor, tending to her children so none of them turn out like Ron Reagan Jr., and reading everything Phyllis Schlafly, Thomas Sowell, Ronald Reagan and “Publius” have ever written. Report Absolving Rahm Emmanuel From Blagojevich Scandal Due Out Tuesday

According to Politico

President-elect Barack Obama’s aides plan to release a report Tuesday absolving incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel of any impropriety in his contacts with the disgraced Illinois governor’s office, Democratic sources tell Politico.

In related news, after my own extensive research on the subject, I plan to release a report tomorrow naming myself as the World's Best Lover.

Sarah Palin Rejects Salary Increase

From KTUU in Alaska:
Gov. Sarah Palin says she would not accept a raise recommended by the State Officers Compensation Commission.

Palin spokesman Bill McAllister said Wednesday that if the Legislature submits legislation for a raise, Palin will not accept the money.

Instead, if the raise is approved, she will subtract the difference from her current salary and donate it to charity or find a way to redirect the funds for the benefit of others, McAllister said.

The comment comes in response to reports Tuesday that the State Officers Compensation Commission is recommending the governor's annual salary be increased from $125,000 to $150,000.

McAllister says Palin never asked for a raise and that the review of top salaries is mandated by a recently passed state law.

The commission is also recommending that all lawmakers be paid $50,000. That standard would replace a variable compensation range and eliminate long-term per diem payments.

Of course, the blood thirsty Liberals are already claiming this is nothing but a political move on Palin's part. They very well may be right, but would a politician that does what her constituents want and what is in their best interest really such a bad thing after all?? Maybe she should take a hint from Liberals like Blago and Richardson and make sure to see the money first before she tries to serve the people.

Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture. Yet Another Corrupt "Pay to Player" On Team Obama?

I just saw it pop up on the newswire. Obama taps Vilsack for Secretary of Agriculture. I quickly run to the Google homepage. I type in "Vilsack Corrupt". The first hit I get is this little beaut from MSNBC, entitled IS CLINTON HELPING VILSACK WITH HIS DEBT?, from March of 2007.

It's a priceless little gem that explains that after Vilsack's failed Presidential bid, he was left with mounds of debt. When Vilsack dropped out of the race and endorsed Hillary, Clinton said that she would help him take care of his bills. But being the strong, upstanding, law abiding former Governor that Vilsack is, he said "Thanks but no thanks there, Hil."

Vilsack then goes on to say he is taking out personal loans to pay off his debt, but then goes on to say that he has friend's in the state who are strong Hillary supporters that will help him financially.

Umm. Tom Vilsack. Your confusing me. Personal Loans? Money from the Hill-ster? Or money from your Hill-ster supporting friends?

God I wish politicians could keep their lies straight for more than 10 seconds as not to confuse me so.

Looks like another political player strongly connected to Barack Obama is playing dirty and for keeps.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Obama's appointed Secretary of Commerce, is being investigated by a federal grand jury and is being linked to a bond deal scheme that has landed Birmingham, Alabama’s mayor, Larry Langford with federal solicitation charges.

From Bloomberg:

The grand jury in Albuquerque is looking into Beverly Hills, California-based CDR Financial Products Inc., which received almost $1.5 million in fees from the New Mexico Finance Authority in 2004 after donating $100,000 to Richardson’s efforts to register Hispanic and American Indian voters and pay for expenses at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, people familiar with the matter said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation asked current and former officials from the state agency if any staff members in the governor’s office influenced CDR’s hiring, said the people, who declined to be identified because the proceedings are secret. Richardson, who is President-elect Barack Obama’s designate for Commerce Secretary, has a staff of at least 30 people.

“They’re looking at everything related to CDR,” William Sisneros, the finance agency’s chief executive officer, said of the FBI probe. “They’re just trying to evaluate all the relationships to see what CDR was doing for the money.”

In October 2003, CDR President David Rubin gave $25,000 to Moving America Forward Inc., a political action committee formed by Richardson, disclosure forms show. Seven months later, CDR, known then as Chambers, Dunhill, Rubin & Co., gave $75,000 to ¡Si Se Puede! Boston 2004 Inc., formed to help pay expenses at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, where Richardson was chairman.

Cooperation Expected

“The Governor’s Office is aware of questions surrounding some financial transactions at the New Mexico Finance Authority,” said Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for Richardson. “We expect any state agency that is approached with federal officials” to cooperate, he said, declining to comment further. Calls to Richardson were directed to Gallegos.

Darrin Jones, an FBI spokesman, declined to comment, as did Norman Cairns, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Albuquerque. CDR’s lawyer, Richard Beckler, a partner at Howrey LLP in Washington, declined to comment. Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki declined to comment.

A member of the agency’s board, Craig Reeves, said he was asked by federal agents about hiring CDR and whether the donations had any role.

‘Many Things Discussed’

“That was one of many things we discussed,” he said, declining to comment on the specific scope of the investigation. He said no one at the governor’s office discussed retaining CDR with him when the decision was made.


I did a quick google search for this story and it seems the only people running this story, besides Bloomberg which broke it, is The Washington Post and the National Review, both decidedly conservative publications. Ammunition Accountability Act: PA House Bill 2228 aka The Encoded Ammunition Act

The more I read about the doings of our government, the more I think George Orwell may have been on to something. His prediction was just about 25 years off.

There is a movement within our government to track our every move. I just discovered a movement known as The Ammunition Accountability Act that some legislators in Washington are pushing hard for. The act makes it mandatory that ammunition manufacturers encode each box of bullets with a unique serial number that will make the bullet traceable. The legislation also makes it mandatory that the retailer of the ammunition, positively identifies and records the consumer buying the bullets for entrance into a government database.

There is currently legislation pending in 18 states regarding this act. Those states being:
Alabama
Arizona
California
Connecticut
Hawaii
Illinois
Indiana
Kentucky
Maryland
Mississippi
Missouri
New Jersey
New York
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Tennessee
and Washington

Being from Pennsylvania, I have done a little research on my own home state's bill.
PA House Bill 2228 is legislation that was proposed February 5th 2008. Not only does the PA act follow suit with the nationwide movement in making encoding of ammunition mandatory, the PA bill also proposes a tax on bullet manufacturers to fund the government database tracking and a sales tax on consumers who buy ammunition. Five cents per round to be exact. Really? Five cents per round?? That seems a bit much don't you think?

I have created a petition to let our state legislators in Pennsylvania know that the citizens of this state are not happy with these plans. Please sign the petition and let everyone you know, that would be interested in this cause, know about the act and that Pennsylvanians will not stand for this. Our freedom depends on it.

Republican Congressman Anh Cao Comes From Strong, Libertarian Like, Self-Relient Background

Anh Cao knows communism. Anh "Joseph" Cao fled South Vietnam as a boy in 1975 when a Communist invasion threw the last remnants of U.S. influence out of the country. He, like many anti-Communist Vietnamese refugees, also became a Republican.

On December 6, 2008, Anh Cao defeated incumbent William Jefferson, an African American in a primarily black district, in a total congressional surprise to most. Cao was virtually unheard of until that moment.

Here is an excerpt from the Huffpo's latest blurb about Cao:
Cao (pronounced "Gow") is the first Vietnamese American elected to Congress,but only the fourth Asian American to join the House as a Republican. A child of refugees, his father served as an officer in the South Vietnamese Army, fighting communism alongside American troops. It's all too easy to portray Cao as a Vietnamese American with conservative views that stem from a legacy of anti-communism. Here, the obvious comparison can be made with right-wing Cuban Americans of southern Florida. But Cao's New Orleans East -- home to the largest concentration of Vietnamese Americans of Louisiana -- is no Little Havana. And Cao is no Republican ideologue. A political independent until only recently, Cao, who once trained as a Jesuit seminarian working with the poor in Latin America, described his politics as "walking the middle line" in a recent New York Times article.

But by holding fast to the middle, Cao isn't merely playing it safe as the first House Republican to represent New Orleans since Reconstruction. The middle line is proxy for the nuanced political and racial location that Vietnamese Americans of New Orleans occupy, a location that doesn't quite conform to traditional left-to-right political ideologies. Indeed, the Vietnamese Americans of New Orleans pride themselves on self-reliance, yet they also demand government accountability, especially when confronted with injustice. They seek to advance themselves politically and economically, yet seem to do so without sacrificing solidarity with other racial groups, particularly neighboring African Americans. Nowhere were these values more clearly on display than in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Less than six weeks after the storm, the Vietnamese Americans of New Orleans East returned to their homes, doing so over the objection of local and federal officials. Their leader was Father Nguyen The Vien, a political firebrand and head of Mary Queen of Vietnam church (MQVN). "Before the storm, I guess you could call us libertarians," Father Vien said. "Our attitude toward government was: 'you don't bother us, we won't bother you.' But Katrina changed all that. We had a responsibility to speak out." And so with each step of the rebuilding process, the priest and his congregation battled those who stymied their efforts: foot-dragging FEMA officials, The Waste Management Corporation that sought to dump Katrina debris in their backyard, city leaders all-too-eager to sell off New Orleans East to developers. Through it all, the priest was surrounded by a coterie of experienced community organizers, policy wonks and attorneys.


Finally! Someone to speak the conservatism that the Republican party has been lacking! Enough with the religious right and the wing nuts. Let Cao speak for the real Republicans that are left in this country so we can begin rebuilding our party.
